Gadgets (gadg-ets) – defined as - mechanical contrivances or devices; ingenious articles.

When considering how to categorize our catalogue of products, I was using the word gadgets as my working title. After a while I realized that a word whose literal meaning is “ingenious devices” is the perfect name for the products within this category.

Trinkets (tring-kits) – defined as -small ornaments, pieces of jewelry, etc., usually frivolous, lacking serious purpose.

To us, trinkets are decorative items purchased for fun. They are not meant to be practical or particularly useful, but they do allow us to express ourselves.

Gizmos (giz-moes) – defined as - doodads, doohickeys, whatchamacallits, thingamagigs, etc.

We pretty much needed another category in which to include products that aren’t really ingenious enough to be gadgets, nor frivolous enough to be trinkets.
